Where it all began

In 1981, Austevoll was a small fishing community on Norway's west coast. The Møgster family saw potential where others saw limitations. Starting with a single fishing vessel, they built a company based on a simple principle: take the profits from the sea and reinvest them in better boats, better technology, and better opportunities for the community.

This wasn't venture capitalism. It was building businesses that would employ your children's classmates, that would keep the school open, that would give young people a reason to stay.

Today, Austevoll Seafood owns companies worth over NOK 50 billion. We employ 10,000 people globally. But our main office? Still in Austevoll, population 5,300. Our philosophy? Still the same: patient capital, active ownership, community first.
